Vertixe Sonora
Since its debut in 2011 in Santiago de Compostela, Vertixe Sonora has given 244 concerts and premiered 313 new works by 244 composers from 49 countries. A decade of original productions and concerts across various festivals and concert series in Spain. Its international recognition has enabled it to perform in venues in Germany, Brazil, the United States, France, Hong Kong, Italy, Mexico, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, and South Africa.
Winner of the 2016 Martín Codax Award for Contemporary Classical Music, its work has been documented in Sonutopias(campUSCulturae, University of Santiago de Compostela, 2014), Correspondencias Sonoras (Manuel del Río, 2013), and A lira do deserto (Manuel del Río, 2020), the latter commemorating the 60th anniversary of composer Enrique X. Macías’s birth.
In addition to the CD featuring finalist works from the 26th SGAE Foundation-CNDM Young Composers Award, the group has recorded Die Wanderung by composer Lula Romero for WERGO, The Dimension of the Fragile, a monograph on Mexican composer Víctor Ibarra, for NEOS, and also a monograph on Colombian composer Camilo Méndez, also for NEOS.
Since 2021, it has been a member, as the Spanish section, of the International Society for Contemporary Music (ISCM).
